Happy nerdy cool things, more days than not

So the International Astronomical Union has rules about naming planets (and space stuff in general), and what I think is, when I see a rule against something, generally it means someone tried it.

And I think it’s a goddamn shame that we can’t use these names:

  1. Lauwiliwilinukunukuʻoiʻoi (too many letters — capped at 16)
  2. Plüto (too close to “Pluto” — but “Bluto” could be ok)
  3. Kayleigh (“First names or surnames proposed as names should be given as normally spelled.”)
  4. LMAO (any acronyms must be pronounceable)
  5. Burmashave (commercial in nature)

Looking at what dwarf planets ARE named, so far I think “Gonggong” is the one to beat.
